«Ca l’Enric» is a restaurant with a large history that started in 1882 when the building was an inn for travellers and a small shop for supplying farmers in the area. In 1965 its owner and his wife started to prepare food and step by step this place became a unique restaurant. The dishes served there belong to the traditional catalan cuisine. It was given one Michelin star what means that it is a very good restaurant in its category: they use the products of the best quality from the zone and the food is creative and original. Moreover, the restaurant is situated in the place which is attractive from the point of view of its biological wealth – La Vall de Bianya (near Girona).
A dinner in «Ca l’Enric» is a fantastic opportunity to try an interpretation of the traditional Catalan cuisine, with seasonal products and ingredients from the immediate surroundings, the forests of La Vall de Bianya. The chef selects the best products, and recreate the flavours of the traditional cuisine with a touch of avant-garde. You will enjoy a contemporary, cosy and quiet interior design. The menu “Degustation” is extremely popular, it lets you try a big variety of dishes of small portions, although you can also choose from the menu card. In the restaurant there is also a cellar with a selection of the best domestic and international wines. The visit to «Ca l’Enric» will cost you from 80 to 120 euros.
What should I taste?
All the dishes, as well as their names, are quite original. The choice is great, for example, “Salad with red partridge”, “Oyster with green mountain sauce”, “Stewed oxtail”, “Lobster Champagne Shower”, etc. The desserts deserve a special mention because their taste and art will not leave cold any client.
